Information We Collect
InSeason is designed to work with a small amount of information:
- Your selected country, month, date, produce searches, and selected produce, so the website can show seasonal results.
- Your language preference and general browser settings, such as time zone, which may be used to estimate a starting country.
- Your precise location only if you choose the location button and approve your browser's location prompt. The website uses this in your browser to match the nearest country.
- Seasonality reports you choose to submit, including the produce item and country being reported.
- Basic technical information that may be recorded by hosting, security, analytics, or advertising systems, such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps, and referring pages.
Cookies And Local Storage
InSeason uses necessary browser storage to record your privacy choice and preferences you request, such as your language and last selected country. Google Analytics uses Consent Mode with Analytics and advertising storage denied by default. Optional Analytics cookies and the Google AdSense advertising technology are not enabled unless you affirmatively allow the relevant purpose in Privacy Settings. You can refuse them as easily as you accept them, choose each purpose separately, and change or withdraw your choice at any time.
Google Analytics
The Google Analytics tag loads on each page using Google's advanced Consent Mode. Before you make a choice, and whenever Analytics is off, Analytics and advertising storage remain denied. In that state the tag does not read or write Analytics cookies and does not send a stored client ID or other persistent browser identifier. It sends cookieless, non-identifying measurements and the denied consent state for aggregate measurement and modelling.
Like ordinary browser communications, cookieless measurements can include the page and referring page, timestamp, browser user agent, screen resolution, and IP address. Google states that these cookieless events are anonymised and non-identifiable and that Analytics does not log or store IP addresses. If you enable Analytics, Google Analytics may use first-party Analytics cookies and a client ID for fuller measurement of pages visited, approximate location, device and browser details, referring websites, and interactions with the site. Google Signals and advertising-personalisation signals remain disabled in the tag configuration.
You can learn more at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Google AdSense
If you enable Advertising, this website may load Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, limit repeated ads, and detect fraud. The Google AdSense script is not requested when Advertising is off. InSeason's consent manager keeps Google's ad-personalisation consent signal denied, including when Advertising is on.
You can manage ad personalization in Google Ad Settings. You can also learn more about Google's advertising technologies at Google Advertising Policies and Technologies.
How We Use Information
Information is used to:
- Provide seasonal produce results for the country, month, and produce you select.
- Remember preferences so the site is easier to use on return visits.
- Maintain, secure, debug, and improve the website.
- Measure traffic and performance through analytics.
- Display and measure advertising through Google AdSense.
Sharing Information
InSeason does not sell personal information for money. If you enable Advertising, disclosures to an advertising partner may be considered a "sale," "sharing," or use for targeted advertising under some US state privacy laws. Information may also be processed by service providers that help operate the website, including hosting providers, Google Analytics as described above, and advertising providers such as Google only when you enable Advertising. These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy policies.
Your Choices
- Open Privacy Settings to accept, refuse, or separately choose Analytics and Advertising.
- Turning Analytics off prevents Analytics cookies and persistent browser identifiers; the tag continues only with the cookieless measurements described above.
- Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information immediately disables advertising, sale, sharing, and targeted advertising on this browser.
- InSeason detects and honors an enabled Global Privacy Control signal by keeping advertising, sale, sharing, and targeted advertising off.
- You can also disable or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings.
- You can decline the browser location prompt and choose a country manually.
- You can use Google Ad Settings to manage personalized ads.
- You can use the Google Analytics opt-out tool to reduce analytics tracking.
Data Retention
The privacy choice stored in this browser expires after one year, at which point InSeason asks again. Other requested preferences remain on your device until you clear them. Analytics, advertising, server log, and submitted report data may be retained as needed to operate, secure, measure, and improve the website, subject to the relevant provider's retention controls and policies.
Children's Privacy
InSeason is a general-audience website and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
